Marinated Beef and Broccoli
MARINADE
- 6 tbsp Soy sauce
- 3 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
- 2 Tbsp Cooking With Greens No Salt Go To Blend
- 1/2 tsp Cooking with Greens No Salt Onion Black Pepper Blend
- 3/4 cup pineapple juice
- 2 lbs sirloin steak cut into 1/2 inch slices
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
Place all ingredients except 1 tbsp cornstarch and 2 tbsp water in a ziplock bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. Remove meat from bag, reserving all marinade mixture. Cook steak pieces in a pan until browned. Remove from heat. Once all steak is done, mix cornstarch and water together and place all marinade along with the cornstarch slurry in a saucepan. Bring to simmer, stirring constantly and allow to slightly reduce and thicken. Remove from heat and Toss in Steak pieces
VEGETABLES
- 1 medium carrot sliced thin
- 1/3 sweet onion chopped
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/5 cups frozen broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Heat olive oil in a pan and toss in all ingredients. Cook until vegetables are lightly softened. Remove from heat
BROWN SAUCE
- 3/4 cup veggie stock
- 3 tbsp soy or tamari sauce
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp molasses
- 1 tbsp agave sweetner
- 2 tsp rice wine vinegar
- 1/4 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (add more or less for thicker or thinner sauce)
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp Cooking With Greens Go To Blend
Whisk together cornstarch and water. Whisk all ingredients but the rice wine vinegar and sesame oil in a small sauce pan over medium heat until thickened. Whisk in remaining ingredients.
Serve over rice, with vegetables, steak and marinade and covered with Brown sauce. Enjoy.
